Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
Today's list is the top ten words/topics that instantly make me pick up/buy a book...
So without further ado, in no particular order...
So without further ado, in no particular order...
Paranormal - Werewolves, vampires, fallen angels...they're all so interesting. Of course, they're kind of saturating the market these days, so I don't always purchase or read them all. But they definitely make me stop and take a peek at the synopsis on the back.
Dystopian - Again, another hot topic these days. But I can honestly say that every one of them I have read, I have thoroughly enjoyed. What an interesting concept...a future nation completely different than the one we're currently living in.
Uniform (or men in) - Cops, firemen, military personnel (even baseball players)...they all make me do a double-take and take a look at whether or not it's something I want to read.
Summer - I'm not a fan of winter...at all. It is cold and depressing. So, whenever a book is set in the summertime (or spring for that matter), I find it much more enjoyable. (Strange...I know.)
Damaged - While I probably wouldn't have picked up on this on my own, I've noticed that several of the books I have read have a damaged male character that the female character is either trying to fix or comfort them.
Online/Internet - I don't know why, but I enjoy books where the writing style is different. So I'm always interesting in reading books that contain emails between individuals or even chats. I think it's interesting to mix things up a bit.
This is a hard topic. I couldn't come up with a full ten, but at least I was able to come up with a few. :-)
Ooooh I LOVE men in uniforms. That's why sports romances made my list. Just imagining them makes me so happy :) Great list :)

I love books set in summer too. And there are too few YA books that involve men in uniform. I guess that makes sense though.

I really enjoyed your TTT list, but your "About Emily" blurp really caught my eye. I am also a master of library science graduate, a new mom, Christian, pinterest junkie, and avid reader! I can't help but wonder how similar our reading preferences might be...I will be following your blog and I look forward to more posts and great book recommendations!
